Rematch with HCYA

Yesterday the fiesty HCYA Eagles returned to Baytown seeking to avenge an early-season loss to BCA and came away with the victory over the host Bulldogs. A five-run third inning was all the Eagles would need as the usually potent Bulldog lineup was kept at bay and denied the big inning that has been the norm for most of the 2010 season. The final score was 5-4 in favor of the visitors and BCA has now dropped two games in a row at home, after winning the first six home match-ups on the schedule. Wesley Winn took the loss, as two key infield errors and a misplayed ball in the outfield led to the Eagle rally that chased him from the bump. Austin Wilson came on in relief and pitched the final three and two-thirds innings without yielding a run.

Offensively for the Bulldogs, Wilson and Cameron Johnson each reached base three out of their four trips to the plate. Johnson was beaned twice and recorded a single, scoring two of the four BCA runs, while Wilson clubbed two opposite-field base hits and reach on a walk. Robert Russell, Tyler Wilson, Jake Garcia, and Ryan Bertram all recorded one base hit in the loss.

With our record falling to 16-9, we seek to return to the win column tonight as we make our final regular season road trip of 2010 to Mount Carmel. The scrappy Rebels will be looking for revenge after their run-rule loss to us in Baytown last week, but the boys will be ready and we are expecting a breakout performance from the offense.
