Tonight is one of those nights that will be remembered for awhile. Leading 9-2 and needing only three more outs to close out a dominant victory, the wheels flew off for our young team and we walked off the field in Lake Jackson carrying the weight of a 10-9 loss to the tough Brazosport Christian Eagles. There were a lot of positives to take away from the first 6 1/2 innings, but the bottom of the 7th is going to live in infamy. One of the drawbacks to having so many young players in key positions is the fact that winning is a process that must be learned. Varsity baseball is a big step for any player to take, no matter what the level or size of school, and we must realize that it will take a few games for us to gel and get comfortable in our own skin. Tonight must serve as a teachable moment for us all, a steadfast reminder to cling tightly to desire and finish what we start. No worries, we all believe the boys grew up a bit tonight, and growing pains are always worth it in the end.
Come on out to BCA on Monday afternoon at 4 PM and cheer us on to the start of a long winning streak!
